For children age 2 to Grade 6
9 to 10:15 am on Sunday.

At KidZone, we want kids to be excited about coming to church! We want them to know the love and grace of God, and begin to develop their relationship with Jesus Christ in these early years.

The typical format includes:

  • small group time in assigned rooms (Little Blessings, age 2-3); JK-SK; Grade 1/2; Grade 3/4; Grade 5/6 Girls; Grade 5/6 Boys
  • large group in Room 3 for music and a Bible story (JK-6)
  • small group time with supplementary activities and connection time

We are currently using Orange curriculum at KidZone. Orange focuses on how families and church can build into the lives of kids together. Orange provides a fun approach to Bible and learning real-life application of the stories for our KidZone small groups. However, our large group time is taught by a pastor, exploring each Bible passage in a talk geared toward kids.

Family Sundays

A few Sundays throughout the year are designated as “Family Sundays” Children in grades JK-6 attend worship in the sanctuary with their parents, and worship is geared toward family inclusion. Little Blessings (ages 2-3) and the Nursery will still be available at the 9 am service on these Sundays.

Family Time

At SPL, we encourage people of all ages to gather, build relationships, and grow and serve together. That’s why we like the feel of Sunday mornings when everyone is in the house! We encourage you to consider how your family will spend time together to grow in a relationship with Jesus and to strengthen your relationships as a family and with others. KidZone resources are available to help you talk about faith at home. Please check out our KidZone resource library in Room 2 for ideas.

Mission Sundays

Once a quarter we have KidZone Mission Sunday. Children in grades JK-6 gather in Room 3 from 9-10:15 am for stories and activities that teach them about how God is working in people’s lives all over the world. These Sundays will be led and facilitated by the mission ministry team.

KidZone Friends

KidZone Friends is an initiative providing one-to-one care and support for youth with various special needs. This opportunity is available twice a month. Parents can receive respite and participate in worship with the assurance that your child will be cared for by trained volunteers from 9 to 10:30 am on Sunday mornings. If you have a teen with identified needs, or you are in the process of the assessment, KidZone Friends may be a great fit for your youth.

We are currently building monthly support teams for Friends. All that’s required is a love for kids and a willingness to learn some new skills. Training is provided. For more information or to discuss involvement contact Sandy Ianuzzo, 905-862-0864

Nursery IconNURSERY

Children birth through age 2 are welcome to be dropped off in our nursery at the 9 & 11 am services.

Trained Nursery volunteers are on hand to care for your little ones  while you and your family take part in the worship service. Our church volunteers are trained in Leading with Care, a program that ensures your child’s safety while in our care.

When you sign a child into the nursery, you will receive a number for our digital monitor system. If at any time the child needs you during the service, your number will flash on the monitor at the front of the sanctuary. This allows you to enjoy the service without worrying about checking in periodically.
