TEACHER MENTORS ABROAD

Teacher Mentors Abroad

Ever thought of sharing your best teaching and educational practices with teachers and administrators in another part of the world?  Teacher Mentors Abroad does just that.  Every summer teams of Canadian educators volunteer and provide workshops and model instructional leadership to teachers in the most marginalized school districts in the Dominican Republic.  The camaraderie and results are exceptional.  Here are comments by Canadian and Dominican participants:

“Never have I been in the presence of educators where everyone was so motivated and committed.  They were very thankful, receptive and gracious for everything shared and extremely dedicated toward creating an engaging learning environment not only for their students, but also for themselves and other educators.  Their desire to learn more was infectious.  Marie, Canadian team member

“It is truly an honor to participate in such sessions and develop professional skills as a teacher.  TMA’s contribution to Dominican education is truly great. Thank you for dedicating your time, energy and knowledge to improve Dominican education”.  Humberto, Dominican educator.

Since 2005, over 2000 educators have received training.  To learn more about opportunities with TMA, visit www.teachermentors.ca
