Sermon Questions Matthew 16:13-20

  1. Tell the story of a time you had to wait. Are you good or not so good at waiting
  2. The Jews waited along time for the Messiah but when He showed up many didn’t recognize Him or want Him. Why?
  3. What is your response to Jesus’ question: “Who do you say that I am?”
  4. Apparently declaring “Jesus is Messiah” wakes up the whole unseen heavenly realms. Explain what this passage seems to indicate about spiritual forces around us and our participation in that realm.
  5. What does it mean to you that God keeps His promises? 2000 years later God comes through in Jesus. Does that give you hope for the future?
