Good morning, Loved Church! Together, let’s take some time today to pray, using Psalm 19 as a starting point. You could read this psalm before breakfast, lunch and supper. (If you’re fasting, you could read the psalm as each of your meals!) Speak it out loud (that is praying!).
In addition to other ways you might pray this day, consider doing one or more of the following:
Get outside with an ear to hear and eyes to see “the heavens” (v. 1-4). Go out in midday and feel the sun’s warmth. Or after the sun goes down, strap on a warm coat (it’ll be cold) and go for a walk, taking time to look at the stars and wonder at the One who made them.
Read a chapter(s) of your Bible. Start into Acts with us. Ask Jesus for one truth to nourish your soul (v. 7-11). Share that “honey” (v.10) with someone today.
Go to your knees and ask the Lord Jesus to show you any place(s) in your life where you need to ask for forgiveness (v. 12,13). Listen. Repent. Receive full forgiveness. Forgive others.
Thanks for becoming a people of prayer. I love that we’re doing this together and that we are never alone.
P.S. To my fasting friends: It’s amazing how fast the week flies by! Doesn’t it feel like we just fasted two days ago? I wonder sometimes if our Lord encourages us to fast in part so we see how quickly life moves. Take the day to move slower, not faster. I find it helpful to read on fast days and not kill time watching movies or YouTube. You’ll find your way. Thanks for stepping into this additional wisdom piece.
