The church at Corinth gives us a glimpse into how the Kingdom landed and found shape in a rather typical First Century Roman city. There was nothing exceptional about the Corinthian church: just believers trying to learn how to walk out of familiar kingdoms of darkness and walk into the Kingdom of Light.

1 Corinthians 5
Message Questions:
- Have you ever witnessed someone draw a line and say “that’s not okay”? What was that experience like?
- Why does it seem to be easier to tolerate unrepented sin than it is to draw a line and challenge it?
- Paul gives a few principles for drawing a line for someone else: do it in community; in the power of the Holy Spirit; and in the hope of restoration. Why are those important?
- Paul uses the backstory of the Passover to remind the Corinthians of who they are and who their Father is. How can this reminder of who we are and whose we are, help us when it comes to drawing a line?
- Is there something that you can do to take sin more seriously in your own life?
Bonus Question:
Read 1 Corinthians 4:5 and/or Matthew 7:1-5. How do we reconcile what we read there about judging others with what Paul is teaching in this week’s passage (see v 12)?
