Valerie Bruinse-Cheeseman started attending St Pauls around the year 2000 and in 2013 felt the Lord telling her it was time to tell her story and be baptized. She has been an active participant in SPL life since then, having participated in our Apprentice program and partcipated faithfully in small groups. Val is a leader in SPL’s One-to-One ministry and is part of our Missions Team. She has devoted hours of volunteer time as a medical professional delivering care in Ghana.

Charles Peniston came to faith in Jesus through a greater and deeper understanding of the Glory of God expressed through his love for humankind. He and his wife, Sandra, have been part of SPL life for several years and have participated in our Apprentice program. He works as a cardiovascular surgeon at Southlake Regional Health Centre and has devoted much of his spare time as a medical volunteer in Ghana. Presently at SPL, he is involved in a men’s small group reading through some of the writings of Dallas Willard.
