Through Stephen Ministry, trained and supervised lay persons, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges or difficulties.
Stephen Ministers listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times. The care is confidential. There is no fee.
Stephen Ministry provide care to those experiencing challenges such as:
Loneliness, loss of a spouse, retirement changes, unemployment, discouragement, childbirth, hospitalisation, divorce, grief, terminal illness, questions about God and faith.
A Stephen Minister is:
- Someone who cares
- Someone who supports
- Someone who listens
- Someone who shares
