1 Chronicles: Jesus is the Forever King of David’s Line

Sermon Questions 1 Chronicles 17:1-15
1. Describe the relationship that David and God had.
2. Explain the magnitude of God promising David that He would establish David’s family in a Kingdom and on a throne forever.
3. Recall any references to Jesus as ‘the King of the Jews’. Why is this so important?
4. Describe the Kingdom that Jesus came to establish.
5. Do you call Jesus your King? What would/does that look like?

Like Our Rabbi Jesus has much to say about how life is intended to be lived. We’re always learning; that means, consciously or otherwise, we have teachers. Jesus warns that some teachers are dangerous! They are like the blind leading the blind. In the end, you will become like your teacher. Choose wisely.

Acts 13:1-5 -The first Christians had small groups! They knew, because Jesus modelled it, that we’re much better in groups than we are as individuals. The group that gathered in Antioch was diverse, zoned in on Jesus and figuring out how to be outward-facing. Your own group will want all that and more!
