Prayer Wednesday

For to us a child is born
To us a son is given
And the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will called
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
And over his kingdom
Establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

My hero growing up was Robin Hood. I watched the animated version of the story and was hooked! I bought a bow and arrow and imagined myself the protector of the weak and the enemy of corrupt leadership.

The Jews had a hero; they just didn’t have a name. They knew that David was going to have a descendant at some point, who would be the Forever King of a Kingdom of Justice, Righteousness, and Peace.

We know his name—it’s Jesus.

As we pray together today, let’s praise our Lord Jesus, who is God come to rescue us, which is good news for all the world.

Praying and Praising with you this day.

Andrew

Exodus 14:5-13 -The story of God’s rescue is not without drama! God’s people left Egypt only to come against a new opponent, the Red Sea!
