Bring Your Best | Exodus 15:18-21
Can Christians Dance?
The world misses out on so much worship! God does amazing things daily, yet we often shrug our shoulders, thank our ‘lucky stars,’ and keep our foot on the pedal. Not Miriam! Miriam understands that worship happens when people notice what God has done, find words (and tambourines), and get up and dance in celebration of God’s good gifts.
Songs for this week: Spotify
- Recall the last time you danced for joy. What did that look like? Share your story.
- Do you feel that God has rescued your life? Share the details of that rescue.
- On a scale of 1-10, how good are you at giving God thanks for His good gifts? Rate your church as well. How can we improve our gratitude?
- What do you seek from worship? What do you expect from a Sunday morning service?
- How should less demonstrative Christians (not inclined to dance or lift their hands) express their gratitude? Should they join the dance or find another way to express their thanks? Explain your answer.

Empowered Baptism is recognized throughout the Church as the beginning of a ‘God thing.’ John’s baptism was a visible demonstration of the start of a new life — clearing out the junk to prepare for what God was about to do. Jesus’ baptism reveals the true heart of baptism: God’s desire to bless and express His delight. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the start of the Kingdom. Ordinary women and men were now filled with the Spirit of Jesus to continue on the ministry Jesus started.

Luke 3:1-20 - The first mention of baptism in the Bible begins with John. John was the cousin of Jesus and also His opening act. John called the people of his day to "Get Ready." The public sign of a life getting ready for God was, and still is, baptism. Get washed so God can do what God wants to do.
